Summer 2003

Porcelain in new shapes

The vintage style has been in the big melting pot – you feel a breeze from bygone days – the old porcelain motifs and the underwear look are blended to create a new era in Part Two's summer 2003 collection.
Light, swirly fabrics with discreet structures or finished surfaces are combined in bright colour schemes. Semitransparent fabrics with printed surfaces, embroidered or delicate quilting give a three-dimensional effect. Loose, open textures can be found in both woven piece-goods and in jersey and knitwear. Raised and broken-line prints call to mind Chinese porcelain, hand-painted floral motifs, antique trimming, real lace and crocheted borders.
The collection is characterised by lightness and simplicity. Simple fastenings, asymmetric lines and borders complete the style together with fine details and surprising effects inspired by old-fashioned underwear. The layered look manufactured in fine qualities. Gatherings and tucks are combined in loose tops featuring wrap-around effects with tie fastenings or straps to wrap around your body.
Antique Boheme gives the collection a touch of nostalgia. Jacquard trimmings on sleeves, crocheted top and skirt with beautiful scallops, folklore blouses in blue tones with porcelain motifs are finished with Lurex in the most spectacular way. Ticking-striped shirts create an exciting vintage look together with waistcoats with attractive gold prints on worn denim.
Light, happy summer colours inspired by the sky, sea and flowers based on soft pastels such as rose, white, charcoal grey, mocha, beige and pistachio with a splash of pink, tomato red and azure. The shades should be set against each other to create a bold contrast of the dark colours against the light ones.
The accessories are a must, and this time they have been given a western twist. Saddlebags with fringes, braided belts with seashells or turquoises, western belts with embossing, burnt edges or raw surfaces.
A spectacular collection with a wealth of mix and match opportunities.
