Summer 2003
Humour, colour and feeling
With inspiration from wayside flowers, butterflies
and cheerful colours the atmosphere of Jackpot’s
"summer 2003" collection is both accommodating
and warm.
Thin, rustic coats with embroidery and accompanying
slips, skirts with light flounces and broad, open
necklines which allow a sensual glimpse of breast.
Dresses and tops with pleats and flounces underline
the feminine look in the most attractive fashion.
Fishermen’s pants, wrap-around blouses and
skirts cling delightfully to the body.
Materials are natural and provide the body with
plenty of opportunity to breathe. A wrinkled silk
plays airily and flutteringly with transparent,
frayed pleats. Linen in many thicknesses, plain
in colour or with print, hand-made knitwear or nostalgic
crochet work, just as though it were grandma who
had made it. The most delicious viscose-chiffon,
both as light and airy and in a heavier quality
that falls magnificently around the body.
The colours are cheerful and fully in step with
Jackpot and the roadside flowers. A shade of orange,
as though taken from a butterfly’s wing, encounters
a rose and poppy red. Lilac and light blue shades
go hand in hand with a delicate green which is further
emphasised by a classic beige and marine.
The patterns are sculptural and create a feeling
of warmth and kindness. Poppies and wild roses adorn
the clothing lavishly and can also be seen again
on attractive embroidered edges. Stripes, in many
or few colours, have been used not only on tops
and blouses but also on swimwear with matching,
flowered edges, shade in shade. Embroidered butterflies
float gracefully across the clothing and provide
a pleasing contrast to a ticking striped and kitchen
check series.
The figure is slim and feminine in an almost schoolgirlish
manner, a wealth of wrap-around effect and tie-strings
that lace up the clothing so that it sets off the
body perfectly. Blouses and dresses have wide necklines
with frayed flounces or tie-strings which offer
extra flexibility. Asymmetric effects at necklines
and smocking exactly like our beloved, old table
centres once again emphasise the fact that summer
is here again.
Combine the clothing so that it completes your
day – your mood – knowing oneself and
daring to be oneself is wisdom.
